Fitness Programs

Get Fit St. Pete aims to actively engage the community by offering free fitness programs in parks across the city.

Get Fit St. Pete

Get Fit St. Pete provides access to FREE workouts in parks throughout the city.  Classes are taught by local fitness professionals in an assortment of exercise formats.  All workouts are appropriate for all ages and levels. The goal in this program is to challenge participants to try something new in a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Tuesday Classes

Cardio Kickboxing 

Try this exciting cardio kickboxing class will focus on technique and move into combination work for a great workout. No physical boxing. All fitness levels welcome!

1st Tuesday, 6-7 PM, Campbell Park, 601 14th St. S. Meet in front of the recreation center.

 

Pickleball 101 

Try out this paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. Paddles and balls are provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own! Pre-registration required as class size is limited, 16 participants max. Email dakota.priest@stpete.org for registration cancellations at least 24 hours prior.

2nd Tuesday, 6-7 PM, Bartlett Park, 2000 7th St. S. Meet behind the recreation center. 

 

Tai Chi

Combines gentle physical exercise and stretching with mindfulness.

3rd Tuesday, 6-7 PM, Northwest Park, 5801 22nd Ave. N., meet in the grass off 22nd Ave near the pickle ball courts

 

Kayaking Adventure 

Come and enjoy a fun paddle on the water! All participants must be age 16 or older. Pre-registration is required as class size is limited, 12 participants max. Email dakota.priest@stpete.org for registration cancellations at least 24 hours prior.

IMPORTANT NOTE – All kayaking participants must pre-register individually in order to reserve a spot for a kayak.

4th Tuesday, 6-7 PM, Coffee Pot Park, 1st St. NE & 31st Ave. NE.

 

Friday Classes

iStroll 

iStroll is the ultimate 60 minute stroller workout made by athletes for parents. iStroll is a place to make life long friends and develop a strong support group.

1st Friday, 9:30 -10:30 AM, Booker Creek Park, 2300 13th Ave N.

 

Fit Lot Training 

Join us the 2nd Friday of each month for a circuit style class at the AARP sponsored FitLot. This class is good for beginners and anyone hoping to learn a bit more about exercise.
2nd Friday, 9-10AM, Booker Creek Park, 2300 13th Ave. N.

 

Water Aerobics

This class is good for anyone looking to build strength and improve heart health while putting less stress on your joints and muscles. No lap swimming involved!
3rd Friday, 9-10AM, McLin Pool, 602 14th St. S.

Neighborhood  Walks 

Explore St. Petersburg’s diverse neighborhoods with our community walk, led by dedicated volunteer Neighborhood Wellness Champions. Join us as we embark on a journey to promote wellness and unity in our vibrant city.

AARP Sponsored Outdoor Fitness in the Park – Fit Lot

This FREE one-hour circuit training classes provide a full-body and fun workout that all ages and abilities can benefit from. This series is perfect for people starting a new fitness routine or trying to restart their fitness habits. Participants will train under the guidance of a fitness professional and alongside a group of committed neighbors who are also working to achieve a more active lifestyle. This digital membership is FREE and open to anyone who would like to attend a Get Fit St. Pete monthly class. Neighborhood Wellness Champions – Neighborhood Walks

Get Fit St. Pete: Neighborhood Walks are on the FOURTH SATURDAY of every month at 9AM.  Walks are located throughout St. Petersburg.

The purpose of the Neighborhood Wellness Champion program is to increase collaboration and engagement between Healthy St. Pete and neighborhoods throughout the City.  Neighborhood Wellness Champions organize monthly walks in their neighborhoods. Current walks are indicated on the map.
