Kids Yoga in the Park

Introducing Mind Power

By Justin Daye, Health Program Specialist

The Healthy St Pete Division of the City of St. Petersburg’s Parks and Recreation Department was recognized at the City Council meeting on December 8th.

At that time, we received an award from our newest community partner, Aetna, a CVS Health Care Company. As a leader in health care, Aetna is committed to positively impacting communities and helping individuals on their path to better health.

The City of St. Petersburg and Aetna have recently partnered with Inner Explorer and Body Electric to offer the Mind Power Program at all our city’s recreation centers. This program aims to provide youth with the opportunity to improve their wellbeing through mindfulness-based, social, and emotional learning and through the practice of yoga and meditation.

We are very excited to offer this exceptional program to the youth in our community. Participation in the Mind Power Program has the potential to impact kids positively. The goal is to give them the coping skills needed for a healthier lifestyle overall. Learn more about the Mind Power Program here.

In addition to the Mind Power program, Kids Yoga in the Park will be offered to community members over the next few months at various locations. Find out more about the Kids Yoga classes by clicking the links below:
