By Dakota Priest, Community Health Leader   May is Mental Health Month. It is a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and advocate for those living with mental or behavioral health issues. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, 57.8 million people live with a mental illness, or more than 1 in 5 U.S. adults. Additionally, the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services states that 49.5% of adolescents have experienced a mental health disorder at some point in their lives.
